Umut Karakuş was born in 1984. He grew up in a family full of chefs. He got into the sector in 2006. Karakuş graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Pastry School with a Grand Diploma and did his internship at Munich Pageou together with Michelin-starred Chef Ali Güngörmüş. He has led various projects for Anatolian cuisine and modern appetizers in London. He has been working on Turkish spices and waste-free kitchens for the last seven years. He founded Turkey’s first spice library in 2017 and received the “Most Creative Chef of the Year” award in 2017 and 2018. He realized various projects including Duble Meze Bar and Aila Istanbul. Karakuş gives lectures on Turkish cuisine and spices at various private schools and universities. Leaving his mark and making unique interpretations on every plate, Karakuş has been writing poems since his childhood and is known as a chef who writes poems for food. He has been writing a book about the new Raki tables for the last year…
