Born in Ankara in 1972, Kemal Ülgen graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Business Administration, and then started his career in 1997 at Procter&Gamble. Mr. Ülgen, who assumed various roles in Sales and Marketing Department, joined BAT as a Commercial Marketing Business Development Manager as of November 2001. After working as the Commercial Marketing Manager of Imperial Tobacco in 2007, Mr. Ülgen continued his career again at Imperial Tobacco as a Country Manager responsible for the UK, the UAE, Oman, and Qatar. After Imperial Tobacco Kemal Ülgen became General Manager of Herbalife Turkey. In 2018 Kemal Ülgen continues his carreer as the Regional Director of ITE Group. Mr. Ülgen is married and has two children.

WorldFood Istanbul continues their partnership with World Gourmet Society, the members of which are world-famous chefs, gourmets, food critics, and restaurant managers, and becomes the special partner of the international “the Best Plate Challenge” once again this year.

In the contest organized as a part of the WorldFood Istanbul with support from Turkish Cooks Association, Favori Lezzetler [Favorite Tastes], and the Culinary Travel Society; and with collaboration of World Gourmet Society, the most creative Turkish chefs are presenting the plates they prepared, as well as their personalities.
The contest aims to promote chefs from all around Turkey; and to form a bridge to help share and spread the local products, regions, and their cultures on an international level.

Our chefs, who will present their personality and their plates the best in “The Chef’s Best Plate Challenge”, will be granted their awards in WorldFood Istanbul Food Arena on September 6.
