WorldFood Istanbul Saw an 87% Growth in International Visitor Number

Turkey’s leading food and drink event WorldFood Istanbul 2019 gathered global food industry for the 27th time in Istanbul between 4-7 September.

Known as the gateway to Turkey’s food and drink industry, the exhibition hosted 500 exhibitors in a variety of product groups from 45 countries. 20,746 professionals were there to meet them to see the trends in the industry, source the latest products and find new suppliers.

Event Director Semi Benbanaste stated the following about the success of the exhibition: “This year, the exhibition hosted 500 exhibitors and 20,746 visitors from 45 countries and drew a rising graph. In 2018, our exhibition hosted 430 exhibitors from 29 countries and 16,085 visitors from 133 countries. When we think of the stagnating economic situation in the region, we believe that we achieved a significant success with 29% growth. Additionally, we achieved a record growth of 87% in the number of international visitors.”

One of the exhibition’s major components, Hosted Buyer Programme welcomed over a hundred buyers from China, France, Germany, Russia, UK, India, Netherlands, USA and more. As a result, over 3,000 B2B meetings were held throughout 4 days.

Event programme brought visitors together with recipe workshops with exhibitors, chef shows and much more. Through panels and conferences with expert speakers, industry professionals got to catch up with the trends and get a glimpse of what the future holds for the industry.

Hear what our exhibitors said:
“This is our first year at WorldFood Istanbul. We chose this exhibition because leading companies are here and it is also a great platform for us to catch up with our existing customers. Our target market is the Middle East and we had B2B meetings in that regard. We are satisfied with the exhibition.”
Kemal Bozkuş – Bonfilet, Chief Operating Officer

“We are exporting to 80 countries. We participate in exhibitions abroad for brand awareness. The reason we exhibit at WorldFood İstanbul is to reach our sales targets. It doesn’t matter how crowded an exhibition is, but reaching the right contacts does. WorldFood Istanbul offers this opportunity. “
