In 2017, WorldFood Istanbul welcomed a professional audience of 13,198 Turkish food and drink professionals. The show also hosted 2,082 visitors from 97 countries across the globe.
For exhibitors, this gave their products and brands a massive reach – not just in Turkey, but throughout the rest of the world too.
So, who makes up WorldFood Istanbul’s audience? It is made up of key industry buyers, including food wholesalers and distributors, representatives from Turkish retailers HoReCa buyers, as well as food and drink manufacturers looking for ingredients suppliers.

354 domestic exhibitors joined 112 international companies at WorldFood Istanbul 2017. That gave the show a grand total of 466 exhibiting brands access to Turkey’s real decision makers.
National groups & international brands
As its name suggests, WorldFood Istanbul is all about bringing foreign companies into Turkey’s biggest city to network and do business. It’s truly an international affair, represented by the number of National Groups and foreign businesses at the event.
Visitors from 97 countries make up the show’s audience, as mentioned above, but how about exhibitors? 29 different nations had representation at 2017’s event. 11 National Pavilions from Afghanistan, China, Algeria, India, Moldova, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and the Republic of Korea, came to the exhibition too.
But wait – there’s more global activity at the show in the form of the Hosted Buyers Programme. This invite-only event allows foreign companies to send key buyers to Istanbul to get access to the show’s international exhibitors. In 2017, WorldFood Istanbul played host to 32 such delegations.
