EU announces new Agri-food Promotion Initiative

With the European Exhibition Industry Alliance, the EU has announced a new €200m promotional initiative for European food & drink.

The EU Policy on Information and Promotion for Agricultural Products

The EU Policy on Information and Promotion for Agricultural Products is intended to open up new markets. Under the slogan “Enjoy, it’s from Europe, it aims to help agricultural organisations to promote EU agri-food products into international markets, and raise awareness among consumers of the efforts made by European farmers to provide quality products.
The available funding is €200m per year. Beneficiaries can receive up to 80% EU funding for their promotion campaigns in the internal market, or in third countries, such as Turkey.
Programmes can cover a wide range of issues from general campaigns on healthy eating to specific market sectors.
Some funds are dedicated to the promotion of specific products, such as olives. Within the EU itself, the focus is on campaigns that promote different EU quality schemes and labels, including protected designation of origins (PDOs), protected geographical indicators (PGIs), and traditional speciality guarantees (TSGs), as well as organic products, as well as organic products.
In addition, a share of the funding is targeted at certain specific sectors: sustainably produced rice, table olives, beef & veal, and fresh fruits & vegetables.
It is a chance for exhibitors to get access to funding for pavilions and promotion activities at agricultural or food exhibitions, such as WorldFood Istanbul.
We highly recommend you check out this opportunity, and use your funding to boost your participation at WorldFood Istanbul this year.
The deadline for submissions of proposals is April 16th 2019.
